What to do if the superfine aluminum powder explodes
Superfine aluminum powder is a flammable solid, silver-white powder, insoluble in water, soluble in alkali, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid.
Toxicity and health: Long-term inhalation of aluminum powder can cause aluminum pneumoconiosis. Manifested as weight loss, fatigue, dyspnea, cough, sputum, etc. If splashed into the eyes, focal necrosis, corneal pigmentation, lens membrane changes and vitreous opacity can occur. It is irritating to the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth, and sexual organs, and even ulcers occur. Can cause acne, eczema, dermatitis.
Combustion and explosion hazard: A large amount of aluminum powder can ignite spontaneously when exposed to moisture and water vapor. Mixed with oxidants can form explosive mixtures. Violent chemical reactions can occur in contact with fluorine, chlorine, etc. Contact with acids or strong bases can also produce hydrogen, causing combustion and explosion. Powder and air can form an explosive mixture. When it reaches a certain concentration, it will explode when it encounters sparks.
Extinguishing method: It is strictly prohibited to use water, foam and carbon dioxide to put out the fire. Use appropriate dry sand and stone powder to smother the fire.
First aid measures: If you accidentally touch aluminum powder, remove contaminated clothing and wash your skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Eye contact: Lift the eyelid immediately, rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or normal saline for at least 15 minutes, and seek medical attention immediately. If you accidentally inhale aluminum powder, you should leave the site and transport it to a place with fresh air.
